That's interesting and those are good reviews alright. It makes me more positively inclined toward them. It will be interesting to see whether the tires or I last longer.

I've just ordered a set of pirellis for the front of the Porsche, only time I had pirellis was years ago and I wasn't happy, so I'll see how it goes. Interestingly, the current set has lasted 6 years, although the drive wheels and majority of the weight is at the rear of course. I put mid range on the rear, I really shouldn't have skimped on a performance car, but had alot of outgoings that month. Will see how I get on, the back does kick out sometimes, but you expect that on a car of this nature, I guess grip determines how soon/often this occurs...
Also, mentioning Kumhos, I'm sure I've had a set of those on the Peugeot too so guess I've had x12 tyres on that already...

Had a set of Michelin X Climate's on the Clio about 2000 miles ago, they are quieter
than other tyres I have had and better grip than them not had it spin up in the wet
like it often does on other tyres but not enough miles to be sure how good they are
on mileage.
Up to now I would buy again.

I guess it's old news now. The link no longer works, or at least didn't just now.

Yea was over a year since it was published, probably better offerings now, even just a year later.

I've heard mixed reviews, it's one of those technologies that gives great results in labs where its developed, but on the open road, it's not as efficient as hoped. The sky active engines seem very underpowered for large engines, which probably means people work them harder at the expense of fuel efficiency.

I had a Mazda 3hb for a little while. I found the engine very good but I don't push hard at all. I don't recall what my mileage was but it was pretty decent.

Here in the UK you won't be able to buy petrol or diesel cars around then. Not even hybrids.

As the poster above said, sales of new fossil fueled cars will have been banned for half a decade already by then. I think anyone buying a new car in the next 5 years will give an EV serious consideration. Emission regs are getting stricter and stricter and so are noise regulations. In a few years, a lamborghinni will have to make no more noise than a Ford fiesta of today, they're already trialing acoustic cameras to fine people. And with particulate filters being fitted to all gas/diesel cars anyway, performance is slowly being reduced, getting into an EV is going to feel very fresh soon, I'm already looking at them.
