I put an Exedy clutch for $80 shipped 60K miles ago in my 92 VX and it still functions adequately with no perceivable change in performance since install.
I don't do any high rev shifting (above 5K rpm) I so cannot comment on how long it would last under severe conditions. I haven't noticed a difference between the Exedy and the OEM clutch but my VX has over 200K miles now so I really don't remember what my first VX was like when new 17 years ago!
And, clutches are similar to brake pads in that they wear down faster with severe use. Front brakes only last 25K miles in the Buick the way my wife drives - it's an annual repair ritual (LOL).
You seem to have found a good clutch in the ACT stage 1. You'll probably need to install one despite the high $$$ if you want performance and long life.
Changing a clutch on a small FWD car sure is fun, ain't it?
does centeforce make a clutch for you honda guys? i know they do for the 4 banger s-10's and people love em (of course people have gotten 200K out of the stock clutch) or some use the generic clutch kit from autozone/advance/ etc and it weems to work
