I have never owned a VW and have never had a hankering after one. My daughter has had a couple of hot SEATs but the tame one she has now is a money pit. I think it is on its third turbo.

The newer VW's have annoying design flaws which journalists always mention, mainly poor infotainment systems and frustrating haptic feedback buttons on the steering wheels, which you either accidentally press, or never sure if you've pressed them properly. But the biggest flaw is that the heating controls have no backlighting at all, so in the dark, it's anybody's guess as to what the cabin temperature is set at. Backwards thinking, it's no wonder other brands are taking over.

These flaws in the VWs are Very Lame, They could have engineered these things better without costing lots to the company.

I've often thought it would be fun to have a car like the GTI or Mini or something with a very avid user group that does things like the Mini group on the Mackinac Bridge or similar. Not sure I'd want one for 24/7/365 though.
