The article seems to claim the US does not embrace diesel cars. How are we supposed to embrace them if there are no diesels at the car dealerships?

Yeah, it's biased against Ford. No talk about the EPA and the issues there. I want our future replacement car to be a diesel. I'd prefer a domestic manufacturer too.

Shop at the right dealerships?
VW has its 50 state 2009 Jetta TDI, Mercedes-Benz its C class diesel. Both are 'spendy', but new with manufacturer's warranty.
Me? I'm too cheap to take new car depreciation. I shop the used market. All mine have been used. All but the first TDI were located through various on-line searches and listings. Even when I decided I wanted a diesel lawn tractor I found it on-line. The internet is something you might wish to consider using if you have any pretence of seriousness in searching for a diesel car.

Do you have access to a computer and a connection to the Interne.......

The problem with the current crop is that they are "spendy". There is nothing affordable that runs on Diesel besides used. They generally don't sell well because those that want them can't afford them and those who can afford them don't want them.

Additionally, with only a few diesel models available, it's easy to not find a model you like.
