The auction has ended

We had 240, 260, 280, 300, 350 and 370 and now it will just be Z, with perhaps 400hp.

Great looking car, what a shame it won't be coming here. Emission nonsense, electrification is going to kill the passion of enthusiasts like me, it's a great shame.

I don't think electric cars will kill motoring for the enthusiast. Electric cars go like sh*t of a shovel and have torque a V8 or diesel only dream of. Current electric cars are being marketed for the average motorist but as they begin to be accepted manufacturers will bring out sports models. Most enthusiasts are not too bothered about range but just want performance. Most Ferraris in the UK do less than 1,000 miles per year.
And prices will continue to drop as mass manufacturing brings with it greater savings with scale.

The problem here is range limitation, especially in Texas. You can drive east to west (or vice-versa) across Texas and you've driven literally 1/3 of the way across America. Or drive from the southernmost point in Texas to the north border and you've driven half way to Canada without leaving the state. Just in Houston you can easily drive well over 100 miles round trip if you need to go from one corner to the other.

Some electric cars are quick yes, but most are not, the quick ones cost as much as a house where I live. But acceleration is only a small part of performance, handling is far more important than acceleration, and EVs will always be too heavy to be "fun" on twisty roads. When I go from my Q7 to my Peugeot, you suddenly remember how important agility is, and that depends largely on weight.

If they can make a battery that weighs considerably less, that would be half the battle at least.

Not much wrong with the handling here. Still costs a house and then some.

Except that will be their road car. The Tesla used on Pikes Peak had modified dampers and race tyres. Of course, both have to have full roll cages.

Didn't Faraday future disappear a few years ago?

No. It's a publicly listed company on the NASDAQ.

What I am getting at though is despite them being big heavy cars they can handle. They have an extremely low centre of gravity and the power to shift their bulk.
