Despite starting in the US it is amazing how the V12 has become almost purely a European thing.
It is a pity the link starts at the wrong end.

Let's not forget - speaking of V-12 power plants - the 1650 Rolls-Royce Merlin. This V-12 supplanted the
GM Allison V-12 - beginning with the B series of the North American P-51 Mustang long range escort fighter aircraft.

I forgot to mention that this Rolls-Royce V-12 was also manufactured - under license - by Packard in the US!

Yes, that is a great engine and was a significant factor in winning the war.
