Alas, this saddens me deeply to see that someone has hacked up one of these, but it is an electric Porsche 914. Attached is a picture of my very first car, a 1973 Porsche 914:

Very cool car. With a rang of 100 miles I think it would be a worthy electric conversion.

I do agree about cars being hacked up though, which is one reason I voted to not convert the n600 to electric. It's better in stock condition IMO.

Matt, I'm a member of a Yahoo! group called 2cylinderhondas...it's very informative and helpful for owners of N600/Z600 Hondas. You might consider joining - it's a great resource for manuals, people who know little DIY's, and sometimes a good source for parts.

Check out this badass

Check out this badass electric 914:

http://www.nedra.com/movies/pso04/CAPOPE_v...lver_Bullet.mov

It is owned by Otmar Ebenhoech, affectionately named "California Poppy". 0-60 mph in 5 seconds, 1/4 mile in the upper 13s at near 100 mph, top speed of 140 mph. About 20-25 miles range per charge driven hard.

It is using twin ADC 8" series DC motors coupled together and a Zilla 2k controller, designed by the owner. The battery pack is 20 Exide Orbital sealed lead acid batteries rated at 55 AH at the 20 hour rate, and have lasted Otmar since about 2003 with no loss in range thus far. He has a lead foot, so if he would drive with economy in mind he could probably eek out 30-40 miles, but instead he challenges every Mustang and rice rocket on the roads, and embarasses the hell out of them.

He dynoed it at 210 horsepower and about 600 lb-ft of peak torque at ~1,900 rpm. This torque from the electric motors has actually stripped some teeth off of the Porsche 930 turbo transmission he installed.

And you say this is 'hacked up'? Are you crazy?

It's done rather cleanly, but damn, it's a 914...it's not supposed to be electric!
