10 years?! Wow, after one good season of trail riding I've killed most stuff on any one of the mongoose mountain bikes except the brakes but the Trek bike I got last year seems to be holding together well.
I've never lived in a place with lots of technical singletrack. Most of my riding has been on logging roads. I'm really just a roadie at heart who likes to go for long rides and see things. Plus if you have lived on Highway 101 in Oregon or Hwy 1 in California you kneed an offroad bike because your road riding can be pretty limited at time.

Re: Any bent riders out here?

I bought my first bent this year. Rans Tailwind, with 20" wheels. I want a second bent with a bigger back wheel. Bents are more much more expensive than regular bikes, so I can buy another one only if I am certain I can ride it a lot, since that is money not spent on getting more mpg.
