Suggestion - Track average speed

Please consider letting us track average speed as reported by our car computers. This helps justify swings in gas mileage and can provide more data to Fuelly for analysis.

Even better, let users define custom fields to store data. I have over four years of fuel up data which includes the car computer's calculated average speed and gas mileage. I would like to store these in Fuelly. Thanks.

hmm, I'm not sure how many cars report average speed. I can see that it'd be nice to track if you have access to that data, but I think only a very small minority of Fuelly users will have that.

We do have a notes area where you can add any arbitrary data you want to track along with a fuel-up. That might be a good place to include average speed if you have it. Notes are always included in exports, so you could then total things up in Excel or another program.

Scan gauge has it and I do put it in the notes section. Seems I don't vary much LOL!

Ok, I'll use the notes field. And if I ever want to run stats on it, I'll just export all the data to Excel.

You can also get average mph from portable gps devices, so I bet the information is available to more users than you think.

In any case, I'd love to understand how average speed impacts my fuel economy.
