Drove the Gaspig last night

My Ford Aerostar (aka The Gaspig) has been parked since Nov. '05 and hasn't moved. Had to get it running last night since they're street-cleaning the close I live in.

Big, roaring, 4.0L V6...and an automatic. I had no clue where to put my left foot and no idea what to do with that much power!

The best part was having to use the Metro to boost it...like David nursing Goliath back to health.

what is your reason for keeping the vehicle other than maybe moving to a new home?

Family holidays. It fits the

Family holidays. It fits the five of us and our gear nicely. The Metro's only a 4 seater and I wouldn't want to shoehorn all of us in my wife's Stratus for any longer than 1.5 hours (ie. trip to Calgary or Edmonton).

The Aerostar's size, classic Ford ride, shear power, air-conditioning, and comfy seats are all pluses during 8-9 hour stints through the mountain passes to BC. At 90 km/h I can also coax 25 mpg out of it.
