I know people that have lived in the same house for 50 years too. And people that marry and wake up next to the same person every day. Not for me, I like a spontaneous life with regular change and new adventures around every corner. Routine becomes boring and exhausting.

Would you drive the same car for the rest of your life? A car that has an advertisement painted on the rear fender or maybe the hood?

I could see maybe driving the same car for eternity if it was something really special like a mid-late 60's GTO or something. But wearing the same shirt or socks for eternity? Nope, no matter what.

For me, a car is a tool. I use it until it fails, then get another. I wouldn't change my hammer every few months unless the integral handle broke!

I'm different, I'm an enthusiast and Cars are my passion. I don't really need a car, but I have 3. I like trying different things and comparing them. I like detailing them and adding value, and I enjoy the process of running a car and keeping a record of costs. I also enjoy the buzz of selling a car after detailing and taking some decent pictures as it makes a huge difference when selling. My Porsche is on eBay for example and is attracting huge interest. I'll be looking for my next project soon after.

I think that's a great avocation. I was just using cars as a comparison to tattoos. Pretty much nobody would consider cars or clothes or whatever as a lifelong never changing thing but they'll get meaningless tattoos.

But not all tattoos are meaningless.

No, and I mentioned that earlier. But many and maybe most are. There are a few who are truly excellent artists but most are hacks. They aren't attractive and they don't look appealing to others in spite of what the owners think. But hey, that's what 22.9% credit card interest is for.
