Yep our Muslim friends are responsible for lots of great inventions that we all use, clocks, maps, one of the first flying machines, the camera, coffee, Hospitals, Music, Surgical instruments, Universities etc etc. Pretty sure it was a Muslim woman that set up the first library too.

Nevertheless, we kinda toed the line until Theodore Roosevelt came along. For as much as we worship the guy here, he was kind of a bastard in some ways.

Paul, I was wrong about a historian claiming middle east science ground to a stop with the Islamic religion. Turns out it was astrophysicist, Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Nonetheless, I think everyone can agree Dr. Tyson's opinion holds considerable sway:
