I hate stopping for gas, especially on long trips.

Because it cuts into my time.

And since I could not respond to my original thread due to it being 718 days old, this is a reply to one of the members.

Well this isn't the UK where everything is around the corner...including pubs. LOL

My usual first day trip in Europe is at 747 km to get me close to the Alps where my first fill-up is at 525 km on the A9. A couple of other times just over 1000 kms on other trips. Not an issue with a BMW motorcycle even when using a stock seat. Daily rides in the Alps are between 300 and 400 kms due to the extremely twisty nature of the passes.

I rode an R100 back in the day and could easily do 200 miles per fill. That was long enough to take a 10 minute break to fill and hydrate and pit stop. Very little extra time added to a trip in the grand scheme of things.

Do you have any tips for managing fatigue or staying alert on those long 1000+ km days, especially in unfamiliar terrain like the Alps?
