First trip with a ScanGauge E fitted.

Went for my first real run since fitting the ScanGauge and retrieved quite a bit of data. From the info stored, here is my figures for today's trip.

Distance travelled: 92 miles. (79 miles highway, the rest, city)
Average mpg: 58 mpg(UK)
Average speed: 35 mph
Max speed: 60 mph
Maximum revs: 3295 rpm
Max coolant temp: 85°C

Comments please.

How accurate is the Scangauge compared with the cars computer as regards to fuel economy? I'm assuming it's the same, so could be over reading by 5-10%. Only 60 mph on the motorway?

ScanGauge is supposed to be pretty accurate, once properly calibrated. At the moment I believe mine to be under-reading, but once I make my second and subsequent fill-ups, which allow the ScanGauge to calibrate its calculation of what petrol it thinks I have used, to the actual amount added to the tank, it will be much more accurate. Of course, the only really accurate determination is the measured figures from a number of actual fill-ups. Main purpose of the ScanGauge is to show me the trend of the instantaneous consumption reading, and even that is a second or so behind the event.

Do you calibrate every time you fill up?

1 - 3% is pretty good.
