Tyre log

It would be helpful to have a way to record the biannual changeover from summer to winter tyres, to track the mileage on each.
Thanks.

That's why paper notebooks were invented.

Yes, and I could keep my fuel log in a paper notebook, too, but we're talking about ways to make acar more useful.

This is a feature I've had for years in Roadtrip for iOS, and I'd like to see carried over to acar (now that I'm on Android).

Sorry about the terrible posters on this forum. You can tag your notes or fill ups in order to sort between winter and summer tires. Then you can search for fuel-ups and notes with a certain tag on them. The tagging is just a multipurpose feature that you can use for any condition you want to apply to fuel-ups.

Thanks for the suggestion. That's a useful way to do it.

The advantage of a dedicated log would be that it would automatically total the mileage on each set of tyres. Just suggesting it as a future feature, since it's available in other apps.

The reason for a paper log is that seasonal tire changes are infrequent, happening as they do about every six months. The paper notebook is immune from changes in operating systems, and even from the chance of a site going dark. If you truly value your information you need a copy of it, properly updated, independent from the "cloud."
