05 Jeep diesel

Hi all. New here. I have an 05 Jeep Liberty diesel with 5-speed automatic tranny. I bought it new in 05...drove it off the lot with 12 miles on it. I'm up at 32k now and I love this truck. I get an average of 28MPG on mixed freeway/surface roads driving. When I have to spend a whole tank on surface roads, it can dip down to 24. When I take road-trips, I get a consistent 30MPG, with spikes up to 34. Not too shabby for a heavy little tractor with a solid rear axle.

Wow, that's good.
Looks like turbo diesel is the way to go if you want a Jeep with decent FE.

We've sometimes had folks here with gas-powered Cherokees; those guys have a tough time getting any significant improvement in mpg.

Currently getting +/- 50 mpg in fall weather. EPA is 31/39 so not too shabby. WAI, fuel cutoff switch, full belly pan, smooth wheel covers.

Now driving '97 Civic HX; tires ~ 50 psi. '89 Volvo 240 = semi-retired.
