Smile Civic Gx Ngv

I read about Darius' article in LA Times and was impressed with his passion for fuel efficiency and Honda Civics! I felt compelled to join the club and introduce my Civic GX to the members. If I am out of line with this thread, let me know and I will stop posting messages.

GX costs $23,500.00 and gives 36 mpg and $7K back from state and fed govs. It runs extremely clean and 95% USA made ( including natural gas) and 5% JAPAN. You get Carpool stickers and park for free at LA meters.
Unlike Darius, I switched to it because of environment and my money stays in US versus money going to Venezuela or Middle East. You can pick up used GX for $12K and the CNG ( natural gas fuel)costs $2.70 at my local station in Los Angeles.

Inspite of its slow pick up and being smaller, I really enjoy driving it. My other car is a 2003-ACURA TL Type-S ( fuel guzzler, lot faster & lot bigger), but I am embarrassed to drive it on the road once I got used to driving my GX. TL has been confined to the garage for months now! I am a mini celebrity at my work and in my neighborhood!

Once again, if I am out of line with this thread, I will stop further postings.

Nice. I wish I could find an older GX for sale. They're pretty rare. How hard is it to find fuel? Are you able to travel at all?

Suspendedhatch: Here are some links to buy used CNG Civics - www.cngmotors.com & ofcourse Craigslist. This is a very reliable company. Some of my friends at UCLA have bought from this company. For CNG gas this is my favorite: http://www.cngprices.com/. Thise site and its subscribers are pretty reliable bunch! Yes, I do drive the Civic GX as a regular car, except I don't take it on long hauls. Its more like an appliance than a passion car!

Thanks for the links! Hm, $13000 for a 10 year old Civic GX. Converting my car would be a better/cheaper option.
