Hey all,

Even though i just found this site I have practiced many of your methods since I got my first car (VW Golf)

I just bought a Toyota Yaris (4dr Auto)

And for my business I have a 1997 Ford Diesel van modified to have a 5 speed manual, currently getting 23mpg in town on Veggie oil!
(And its loaded down with Carpet cleaning equipment and water!)

I look forward to soaking in this culture of minimalism and efficientcy!

Ashmck -

Welcome to GS! The Ford diesel van sounds cool. You added the 5-speed, but did the van also come with the diesel?

Actually no, It was a Gas V8 Triton (9mpg!!!)
So I put in a 1985 Ford 6.9 diesel my dad rebuilt that was in his rusted out truck.

Sounds interesting.

Welcome to the site!

Good luck with the Yaris. I've heard they can get some pretty good MPG.
