Hello everyone! Happy New Year!
I am new here. My main interest is, of course, fuel economy . I have been referred here by another member. I think this site is great!
Looking forward to some meaningful discussions here.

WELCOME, ANOTHER YARIS...................
Is your 2006 Yaris automatic a 1.5 liter? I have a 2007 Yaris manual with the 1.5 liter. I have had mine just three months, and the mpg keeps increasing, even with the colder temps.

Many thanks for the welcome. The recent high gas prices are driving me nuts. Fortunately, my wife has a 06 Toyota Yaris HB which I always call mine . Personally, I own a 04 Mercedes E320 4-matic. The Yaris is easy on gas whilst the Mercedes is also quite thrifty relative to other cars its size. Even so, I always want to save more and more. That's why I come here trying to learn something from you guys.
I will disclose to you who referred me after obtaining his/her permission .

Thanks, its a 2006 LB with a 1.5-liter engine and an auto transmission. I think I get about 33-34 mpg (US) quite consistently since purchase in late 05, with minor ups and downs.

I'm betting the referrer was... Silveredwings. Just a wild guess.
Welcome to the site. I like the Yarii.

Sorry friends for the suspense! Now I have the permission of schmeep to disclose his identity.
Yes, schmeep is the referrer. So MetroMPG has gotten a few letters right, but sorry, no prize!
You are all wonderful!
Happy New Year again!

nice! A Toyota. I have an 06 Matrix xR, but its weight is not helping with the mpg i want it to have (maybe because it's an automatic{averaging at 30 mpg combined}). Sometimes, i wish i could go back in time to purchase a Yardis or a Scion xa. They're much lighter, however, i recently bought a crx maybe one day i'll get it up and running.

The Matrix and the CRX are nice cars. I like the Matrix because it can have the optional all-wheel-drive.
Enjoy!
