Cool Metro from the Ozarks!

Hi Y'all...

Cool Forum. Look forward to talking with ya. Was wondering if removing my catalytic converter will do anything for my mileage. We got no need for them things here in God's country...'cept for hood ornaments...

Hey Waterboy, welcome to GS. Nice car (Tell us a bit more about it - and maybe fill out your garage.)

Exhaust: freer-flowing exhaust has been discussed much, but nobody's found anything conclusive for mpg one way or the other. I don't believe anyone's done a trial on the subject.

One problem with doing a cat-ectomy (aside from the obvious) is it will cause the computer to throw a Check Engine Light (CEL) when the rear O2 sensor detects elevated emissions.

Indeed, please leave the cat where it is. I actually added a second cat to my system without any noticable effects, so I really don't think you'll see anything but excess pollution without one.

Anyway, welcome to the site! Always nice to see more Geo owners. As darin mentioned, don't forget to fill out the garage and gaslog,
