New Guy from NY

I was looking around at some threads and there is some other interesting info here so I joined.

Anyway, I have a 99 Cutlass ( bought new) as a DD that gets 28-30 average. Not that great (considering many get 40+ mpg but with smaller cars ) but a comfortable and reliable car.

So Hi to all.

Ahh horse racing country. My brother in law's boss and him just went Sunday or yesterday for something out there. they took some horses with them. Nice area. I'm farther east, Herkimer to be exact. My step son is down in Cohoes and my wife is on her way out there as I type to see his baseball game and to bring him back here for a few days.

Welcome. 28-30 is actually really great for someone who's not hypermiling and not driving a '92 Civic VX or Geo Metro.

Does your cutlass, by any chance, have the 3.8l V6?

28-30 is 90% highway at 65-70. That is a manual calculation. No a/c or heat needed, conservative driving, - nice weather gas mileage.

The 99 Cutlass has the 3.1Liter/auto 4 speed trans. I guess it's actually pretty aerodynamic and not too heavy.
