new guy NC 1997 civic hatch

Just purchased 1997 civic dx hatchback 5 speed 112K any suggestions on gas mileage feel free

If you read some of the threads here, most of the stuff that applies to the other civics will apply to yours. Since the car is fairly small, light, and has an efficient engine, speed will be the biggest factor. Slowing down on the highway will make a big difference. I notice on my civic hatch that above 55 the mpgs go down quickly...especially in the winter because the air is more dense when it is colder.
A couple standard efficiency items: keep tires inflated...read other peops opinions on this...I keep mine at 40 and live on a dirt road.
keep rpms low.
maintain momentum.
coast in neutral, or EOC as some people do.
buy LRR tires when you need new ones.
