I am new to the whole hypermiler scene and I'm looking for other 2006-2010 Civic drivers to share info. I drive an '07 Civic Ex that I love. Why would anyone buy anything else?? seriously??.... Anyhoo, I recently installed E3 plugs (we'll see what happens), stripped out extra weight & upped the tire pressure. Any other civic drivers out there find the optimum highway speed, tire press. etc for their newer civic??
you have a very good car for highway mpg. i remember the r18 spins at around 2000 rpm at 60 mph, and most drivers average around 30 without hypermilling. with it, and 44 psi tires, less weight, you can average 40 something easily with an automatic.
i'm sorry you wasted your money on E3s. there is no measurable increase w/ them. i hope you didn't pay MSRP for them!
Paid $5.95 each for 4 of 'em. The jury is stall out on MPG increase. We will see after the next tank. I have heard more good than bad about them so, we'lll c...

You are correct on the RPM to MPH. I had been running it at about 68-70 on the highway. At 70% highway and 30% city driving she gets 31 MPH ave. I have lowered my cruising speed to 60-62 so we will c what happens. I also got gutsy and yanked my spare and everything not boltd down to cut weight. The tires only have 16K on them and I only range about 15 miles from home so it should be fine. I also just started trying the whole DWB thing and Ive been practicing on my daily work route. Im hoping I get my tank ave up to at least 35 MPG next fill up. fingers crossed
No Scan Guage yet, looking at all of the options and trying to find a used gauge to keep cost down. Thx for the tip.
Check out the UltraGauge. It's a less expensive new product that looks like it might be a little better. I haven't tried one but another user posted a thread about it.
