Well guys, I took the car out today for a 1 hour round trip to the shops with a 50/50 mix of city/hwy and got a combined consumption of 30.6 US mpg and was averaging 40 mpg on the hwy at 55mph without cruise control. So over 25% better than the EPA estimate. I had never come close to these numbers before I read the amazing tips on this site.

Mind you this was with about 30% of the time having a cold engine that is far from broken in and lots of traffic on the way back home. Did not do any drafting or engine off work.

Yeah we have the whole BMW range on offer here, but I think a 320d is as small as I would go even though I am a fan of both the 1 and 2 series.

That's pretty good economy for a large car, maybe it is worth the extra effort and using the eco technology on board then?
