The gas pill is the biggest

The gas pill is the biggest scam related to mpg right now. I could clog your fule filter. I would crush it up be i "use" it.

Did we ever end up testing the pills.

not yet

Naw we didn't test the pills YET. I have one to test so once I get the mower operating relieably again, I'll have a ball with all the additives I've aquired.

However I did get an email from a Progressive Tool & Industries Co. employee that the pill works. This guy heard I was a skeptic thru some friends, and asked them if he could email me and etc...

Not that I am convinced yet tho...When I see it, I'll believe it. Also, I will video the pill dissolving in the fuel.

No, the two or three people who came onto the site and were "one post wonders" never took us on the challenge.

MLM at it's best.

a page about the gas pill

a page about the MLM gas pill was recently added to the very good site "fuelsaving.info"

once again, the author boils his critique down to the need for solid, controlled testing to prove fuel saving claims. he rightly rejects uncontrolled on-road testing (e.g. testimonials from users) as "proof", and argues the gas pill sellers' lab "testing" falls short of providing scientifically valid evidence that their product actually works.

worth a read.

Simethicone works pretty

Simethicone works pretty well for getting rid of gas, but I get no better mileage no matter how many of those stupid mothballs I eat.

BTW, possible down sides of mothball-based additives: http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/chem00/chem00485.htm

I have a bone to pick with

I have a bone to pick with the fuelsaving.info guy...He says that vtec-e was developed in the 80s (mehbe, vtec wasn't around until the very late 80s, I think) and eliminated by 92, which was the first year it existed in production cars, and has existed there since, so, at least in some respects, he is not infallible.

you should send him a note.

you should send him a note. he's very reasonable and apparently receptive to being corrected.

also, i know nothing of vtec-e's history, but is it possible there are differences in which markets it was offered and when? (he's british.)

I believe that the early

I believe that the early vtec-e wasn't sold in europe and I don't believe any of the hybrids are over there so it's prolly not over there now. It was in the US and Japan and Canada I believe, I'm not sure about other markets, but I do know australia got carbed civics until 95 so I doubt they got it tooooo soon. I'll send him an email with some solid links when my email is working again.
