Oh yeah, the a/c will suffer with a full grille block. On my truck when I was operating a grille block I had a 95% grille block, but when I really needed the a/c to be COLD (like when it was over 100F outside), it was disappointing. I ended up doing about an 85% grille block so my a/c would work.
I recently had to open up my grille block even more than before. It's now almost completely open the width of the radiator. It still blocks the area where the A/C condensor would have been if it had ac. I put an LED on the dash to tell me when the cooling fan was running. It was running near constant on the highway on the last hot trip. It seems the VX needs most of the air flow it gets already.
