Indeed, some details would be great! Any cold starts in this run?

Lucky you living in florida, most people's FE gets tanked in the winter...

Luckily I won't have to drive.

Congratulations! Maybe you could carry a fully-juiced spare battery-pack instead .

bowtie: heartless taunting like that causes people to snap and do crazy things. I just got in from a suppertime sail - it's 5C / 41F out there and I had my winter coat, hat & gloves on!

To get the mileage I did, I did huge amounts of P&G and no highway. I have an EBH on a timer that I use every morning. I haven't figured out a way to plug in at work so I do have a relatively cold start every afternoon. Fortunately, the Prius' coolant thermos helps out a little.

Wonder if a solar panel could create enough juice to be a power source for the EBH ? or If it would be worth the added expence/weight?

I have thought of that. The EBH is ~400 watts and it takes 3-5 hours to be effective. I don't have any idea how big of a panel it would take to generate that much juice.
