DIY Analog to Digital Oscilloscope for under $10

Free software too.

I'll be building one this weekend. Should be cool!

Granted, it isn't a 100MHz hardcore scope, but if you want one of those you'll need to spend a few 100 more dollars, and that's for a used one.

40kHz in windows and 100kHz in DOS should be adequate for most DIY.

Little more involved but you can make a 1MHz scope for just a few more bucks and some additional knowledge.

I may modify this circuit to work with some microcontrollers that I already have.

What microcontroller are you considering? My experience (limited) is with the Atmel AVR line. I got a programmer and some chips for free.

I plan on using some Freescale chips I have. If anyone is interested I plan to make some PBCs for that unit that will be standard parallel interface and then I want to build the faster MC based unit with USB support.

I'd be interested in the USB one! Any idea about what it'd run?
