Brilliant!

Brilliant indeed! I thought about it, and figured that I need the solvent for Winter driving only, which is when I don't need the sponge -- perfect! Water only in the summer months.

(Thanks for bringing up this old thread -- I forget sometimes what we have here)

I have to get under the hood (or check the shop manual), but there may be a happy medium here. I require at least water to the front windshield for muddy road spray. The rear wiper isn't a big deal in the summer, and should have its own pump. Oh yeah

Thanks!

Shop Manual

OK -- the shop manual shows 2 pumps on the fluid reservoir (front and hatch).

Since the rear wiper comes on with washer actuation, that would have to be disconnected, wire-up an SPST pushbutton to power the pump and reroute the fluid tube to the "spongebox" = done!

There's a great surplus store in Orlando (about 15 minutes from me) that sells washer fluid pumps for pretty cheap

Just figured I'd pass along
