What's the best gas for acetone mixing?

Hello,
I'm new at all this, I started putting acetone in my tank since last week , I haven't notice any mpg increase yet, I started with 2.5 ounces per 10 gallon and I'm decreasing the amount every time I fill up. I'm using 87 Chevron with Techron , do you think this the wrong kind of gas to use with acetone?
Thanks and keep up the good work.

Those that have luck with it say that it doesn't work well with E10. Welcome to the site. Why not go over to introdution page and tell us about your car and what your commute is like. Welcome to the site.

I've heard that E10 is the death-knell of acetone, but I live about 150 miles away from non-ethanol gas.

Acetone should give you an octane boost and maybe clean the injectors.

prolly cant its all over now. i fill up with here by choice here in nebraska. dont try and use additives to try and boost your mileage as much. just go with what is 100% proven that works. slowing down, tire psi, grill blocks etc. btw add a garage entry and a gaslog so we know what your driveing over there!

Buy the good quality acetone...either from Sallys Beauty Supply or from a hardware store can that says 100%. The cheap stuff has water and other crap in it that defeats the purpose.

Wow there is a Sally store about a mile from me - will have to check them out for their acetone.
