gas $3.17 here for the cheapest Shell. Most gas stations are $3.25

As soon as it hits $3.40 I'll start cleaning up my bicycle and make sure all the gears work.

Gas prices have levelled off

Gas prices have levelled off here over the last four or five days in the $3.05 range. (I paid $3.059 yesterday and the price at that station hadn't changed when I drove by this evening.)

It's interesting that we have hit a plateau. I assume it has something to do with all the talk that came out of Washington last week driving down futures a bit. But supply and demand being what it is, it's a safe bet that we will see the numbers climbing again soon. Prices kept on climbing right through August last summer, and that was before Katrina was even a tropical depression. I can't imagine things will be any different this summer.

Gas prices going down?!?

So I filled up today and gas down by where I work was down to $2.99 from $3.05. I find it funny that brick mentioned all the talk from washington. I guess gas prices here went down cause I'm so close to the talk. I'm still not quite sure how the whole future pricing scheme works. From what I get they figure out the price of gas, or crude oil rather, two weeks ahead of when it's going to be sold. Does anyone else see something wrong with this? :?

Biking is impractical where i live. I live on top of a 300ft hill so it is a 300 ft climb on the way back:( . I like to bike and go rides all the time.

Crude is 71.88 so it is down a bit.

here is some graphs to look at.

Crude closed at $74.61 a bbl

Crude closed at $74.61 a bbl today. At the 6-mo. trend, we'll be at $100 a bbl in less than 13 months. Of course we'll see a gratutitous dip just before the election followed by a punishing rise just after.

Incidently, if gas tracks proportionately with crude, it will be over $4 a gallon at that time. Sing it with me: "they're into money, they're into money..." ;)

the forkenswift will create a similar situation. except only half the time (since my friend will have it 1 week, then i'll have it the next...) i just know i'll be looking for excuses to drive it.
