It's too bad, but the manual transmission seems too complicated for American drivers/buyers. Manuals are rare when you want to buy one, and pretty hard to get rid of when you try to sell one. :( Money talks, and consumers keep voting for automagic slush buckets. |

Great Article
Great article, Matt. It seems as if we have to wait until the 2009 model year for higher-efficiency Hondas. The i-CTDi Diesel should be over by then as well, fingers crossed. They'd better hold to these speculations, or even improve upon them. It's probably too late for anything to come out next year that rivals anything their current lineup (and I can't see Honda rushing something to market these days, which would sacrifice quality -- they tried it once already with the 5-speed automatics in the 2000-2004 Acura TL (especially the Type-S auto), and later the MDX -- huge recall, with a warranty up to 100K miles).

The total miles was 2254.4miles at 14gallons that would be 161mpg.
We will have to hear the offical results. |
Jesus, what unbelievable FE.

That it is, but...

BUT Whose to say we can't get some gassers together and use the same technique to get the same percentage over EPA combined? RH77 |
So are you trying to say that the MPG is great compared to 99.999% of other cars on the road, but not that great for an Insight?
Or are you saying we should plan a trip with the Blackfly and try to break the non-hybrid record. :p :) |

Is there even a non-hybrid record?

I think so.

It could be like an SCCA-type of rule-set with different classes of cars having different restrictions on modifications. RH77 |
