I would like to choose all of them but I thought money was the best choice. Obviously most of us are creating more effiecent cars to lighten the burden of filling the tank. It sometimes amazes me to think how ineffiecent America is and how its not only impacting the individuals, but the nation and world. When you sit down and add up exactly how much money you put into your transportation, its shocking. All this money is going to the big oil monopoly and hindering our government. Who benefits from this? Not the common man just trying to get to work to provide for his family, but the multi-million dollar yupp who hasn't a care in the world. Saving money for the average person boost moral and economy.

Personally I think we should tell the Middle East to go to hell and tighten our bonds with Mexico. Mexico and Mexicans are not a "problem", but a situation looked over in the wrong way. They want jobs, we want cheaper fuel. Can't we work this out? We should develop drilling processes in that HUGE reserve found in the ocean down there. Mexico was a large oil processer until the 70's (I think it was) when the bottom dropped out of the business. Imagine that, oil? failed business?


Meh, but I also think reduced emissions and conservation is important. The number 1 way to save gas is to not drive.

I don't really brag much but if I ever get something worthy of bragging, I'll try it..

And lastly, pushing the limit. I think there's something in us as humans that make us want to do that. It's like a personal vendetta against big oil to see what I can get, and when I find my max, do better. I have plans in my head of in the future how I want to build a practical car that gets insane mpg that I cant do now becuase of money!/schooling/family/know-how/tools/other hobbies..

My main reason is the environment, although money of course plays a factor with our stupidly high petrol prices!

Since we can only choose one i picked money cause at first was my main reasong when gas priced got above $3 a gal. now it's more a combo of all of the above.

1 even though i'm not at top of any list i can still go a month before refilling. i hardly drive much except to work and maybe town once in a 2 week period.

2 i want to do my part to help.

3 it's fun!

4. nobody beleives me when i tell them the mpg i get. not earth shattering compared with some here....

Just keep in mind that you should only be competing against yourself since everyone's commute/traffic patterns are different.

i'm a little suprised that saving money scored so high especially back when this site had a distinct left lean.

Even us liberals like getting the best value for our money.

What got me the other day was a commercial for the Bankrupt Chrysler - would you buy a vehicle from a company going bankrupt and the woman's reply was "we always buy jeeps and we love them" . . . well doesn't that just raise the carbon footprint for that family!

I recently got my inspection sticker for my xB and was hoping to see the emmissions levels of CO and CO2 on the report but it seems all they do now is plug into the ODB2 port and scan for CELL code - no errors then you pass . . . what a rip for $39!!!

Where did you get your inspection done? The last one I got included all the emissions paperwork and I assume they ran it on the dyno with the sensor in the tailpipe.

Toyota of Newport and I asked the body shop manager why there was no emmissions and he said new car they don't do it that way . . . go figure.

I do it to save money. I do it to conserve resources. I do it to compete against myself, or anyone else willing to compete with me. Unfortunately I do not know anyone who is interested.
