Hill climbing a gradual slope I am in 5th at 1200, holding 32 mph steady,instantaneous FE is 45 . Moderate hill climbing at 4th 1500, holding 32 mph steady, instantaneous is 30. At 2200 lbs, it doesn't take much torque to accelerate or to hold speed. The only time I go over 2000 is when I have to go over 50 mPH. When I get the CX tranny installed, I will never have to go over 2000. :)

damn i forgot your car is lighter than mine by 200 lbs, what's your engine specs? and what kind of wheels do you have put on right now? here are mine:

115 HP SAE @ 6,100 rpm; 110 ft lb , 149 Nm @ 4,500 rpm

this is the engine with no vtec. I just did a 3km run and got 55.6 mpg, then I took a 5 min break and did the same run again and achieved 63.5 mpg! for a total of 6 km, which has 2 right turns and three stop signs that i have to turn right on as well. I wonder how many times i can repeat the segment until my mpg maxes out?

edit: boo 3rd run resulted in 54mpg but then again I took a 10 minute break for that one and when I got back coolant temperature dropped from 90 C (normal operation) to 70C.... but now at least I know what my car is capable of!

I have 102 HP, 98 ft lb

I have 102 HP, 98 ft lb torque. No vtec here either. The wheels are 185/65/15 which are way bigger than the stock 175/75/13. That may be costing me a few mpg. Im working on getting smaller tires/wheels.

Wish I could do the 13", but the tire options are very limited. Actually, with the HX rims at 12 lb, and the tires that I found at 13 lbs, the whole works is 25 lbs per wheel. Not many 13" tire and rim combos could beat that.

I'll have to weigh mine, but also. I could weigh more than you and still have less inertia, especially since the tire weight is mostly at the outside. Think about it...;)
