Fuelly website error
Sorry, not sure how file this problem directly with FUELLY.COM.
I just did an update of my mileage for my 2015 Chevy Volt. Once entered, the charts do not show the fill-up and/or leave the miles per gallon field blank. Meanwhile the iOS App does show the correct mileage (408 mpg). What gives? The APP shows correct information, but the FUELLY.COM website does not? How do I bring this to someone's attention? Or am I missing something? I DELETED AND RE-ENTERED THE DATA TWICE AND SAME RESULT! Photos attached https://www.knarfoh.com/FUELLY/fuelly0.JPG Above is screenshot from iOS APP. The figure 408 is CORRECT https://www.knarfoh.com/FUELLY/fuelly1.JPG However, this is what the FUELLY website shows after I entered my data. SEE THAT FILL-UP 8 HAS BEEN ADDED --- BUT MPG FIELD IS BLANK? https://www.knarfoh.com/FUELLY/fuelly2.JPG This chart from website isn't updated either with fill-up 8 https://www.knarfoh.com/FUELLY/fuelly3.JPG This chart from website isn't updated either with fill-up 8 So the iOS APP shows the correct information. But the website shows the entry, but not MPG and other charts are wrong too. How do I bring this to FUELLY's attention |
Just delete the entry and re-input it.

I did -- TWICE

Same results. Thanks for your reply |
Even though the iOS APP shows the correct mileage for the last fill-up (408 mpg) it shows the WRONG "best mpg" as 346 mpg.

Okay.. deleted the last entry from my home computer and used the iOS APP to enter the data. This time I got a message in the APP saying the odometer information far exceeded the NORMAL entry (or something like that) though it did allow me to ignore the message and submit the entry. My mileage since last fill-up is considerable (because this is a hybrid electric vehicle). I am guessing FUELLY.COM does not process data correctly for electric vehicles.
THIS IS A SERIOUS FLAW IN FUELLYS' CALCULATIONS FOR HYBRID AND/OR ELECTRIC VEHICLES. THEY NEED TO FIX IT |
This has been bought to the attention of the team recently, I think the software was built long before high mileage vehicles like that existed. As far as I know, they are working on the issue.

My last mileage report showed I traveled 2,300+ since my previous fill-up. That fill-up was not calculated properly and is the one I have included photos. I also have one another one for over 2,000+ miles that FUELLY calculated properly which makes me think this is a problem they might be unaware of. MY ORIGINAL POST WAS ASKING HOW DO I BRING THIS TO FUELLY'S ATTENTION DIRECTLY. NO ONE HAS ANSWERED THAT. I would rather know they are aware of the problem.. then guess they might be .... |
I just noticed one of my previous fill-ups which was correctly calculated by FUELLY was for 2,667 miles since last fill-up. FUELLY had no problem with calculating the numbers correctly then... something is MESSED UP IN FUELLY LAND
|
Try inputting the data using your computer.
|
DUH... guess you DO NOT read too carefully. My initial effort was from my PC.
(1) Used 2 different browsers (2) Deleted entry and re-entered (3) Used the iOS APP (including deleting and trying more then once.) I know the DATA is finding it's way into FUELLY's website because they show the last average mileage (408 mpg) but the figures don't seem to work into all the various screens and reports. SEE PICTURES! I am back to one of my original questions -- HOW DO I CONTACT FUELLY DIRECTLY? |

People are far more likely to help if you're not rude and abusive. Look at the bottom of this webpage, under "legal" there is a contact link, worth a shot.
|
Personally, I would click the support link that's directly under the forums link in the drop down menu that got you here... but that's just me.

I am used to other forums and often SUPPORT on a forum is for the forum and not the product. I had previously clicked on that link but obviously did not go through the steps to see that eventually it allows you to submit your problem directly if it cannot be found in the FORUM or FAQ's MEA CULPA |

It is frustrating to get guesses and replies that do not directly answer my question; miss the point; or suggest something I have already tried multiple times. I went to great effort to post photos, detailed information about what I had tried, etc. and when you get a non-answer it is frustrating. Regardless -- MY BAD -- and apologies! |
You're not the only one having issues logging the high fuel economy that hybrid vehicles are seeing. I believe they are working on a fix, but who knows how much of a priority it is.
FWIW, every time I've contacted Fuelly support, they have gotten back to me within a few days. |
Fuelly simply wasn't set up to track two fuel sources like there is on a PHEV, and tracking just one only provides half the picture.

I received this reply from FUELLY.
Thank you for contacting us. Fuelly has a filter in place to prevent entry of obviously bad data. The filter was in place before the introduction of plug in hybrid vehicles were introduced. Our current MPG limit is 400 MPG. We will make adjustments to this in the future and attempt to link the filter to the vehicle versus a site wide filter. Curious how quickly they will resolve this. Duel fuel vehicles have been out for awhile. You would think this issue would have been solved by now My last avg mpg was 408 which sent me over FUELLY's threshold. After that, they ASSUME it is an ERROR. So apparently FUELLY has never updated their website since 2000 (when the Prius was introduced) or 2011 (when the Chevy Volt was introduced)? ETC ETC ETC JUST KIDDING! I understand the need to have filters in place for obviously erroneous data and it does make sense to continue with these filters and make exceptions (by model) for hybrid vehicles. But based upon some comments I have read in this FORUM and several others, they have been THINKING about the fix for a LONG time. |
Still having the same issue. My commute is 40 miles round trip so I rarely need gasoline in my 2017 Volt. I calculated 668 MPG, Fuelly is blank, (funny how Fuelly comes up as a spelling error on the forum, lol). Does anyone know if the overall total mileage is correct, I guess I could ad up 3 years of receipts.......

I have been having the same problem with my Prius Prime. In the summer I was entirely electric and went over 5000 miles on one tank of gas. (Lets face it with a hybrid the MPG numbers are meaningless but I still want an accurate account of the gas I put in the car)
|
I have the same problem with Fuelly and Audi A3 Sportback etron NOT accepting entry
MPG still not registering from #14, Aug 7, 2019 (mileage: 2,798.40, gallons: 4.651, price: 3.489, city driving: 80%). According to the Fuelly app, it should be 601.7mpg, but it fails to record this in the desktop application (I also guess that Fuelly is not able to handle PHEVs which are driven by owners who understand how to recharge daily and use the car to the best possible mpg advantage). PLEASE FIX THIS, BECAUSE MY LIFETIME MPG WILL NEVER BE CORRECT UNTIL THIS FUEL UP IS COUNTED PROPERLY.

I know this is an old thread, but are there any plans for this to be resolved? With covid, I've been doing a lot of shorter trips and haven't been to a gas station in about 10 months. I recently added around 7 gallons to my tank, during which I covered around 4,750 miles. Yes, yes. 6xx MPG doesn't equate to the actual energy used by the car, but I'm still trying to track my mileage and fuel consumption.
|
I am getting this same problem.
I fueled up once in March 2020, and then just again on January 25th 2021, and its not showing my MPG. That is exactly what happened. My daily commute to take my daughter to daycare and home was doable on battery every single day and I didnt need to fill up until just now. I took a lot of pride in Fuelly. My last car was a 2008 Fusion and when I sold it I printed off every fuel up and maintenance I kept track of on Fuelly. Now, for my 2014 Volt, I won't be able to do that because it thinks it is an erroneous entry? |
The site does not handle more than 300 mpg. It is not designed for PHEV's.
|
It's not designed for any bi- or dual-fuel car.
