Arithmetic error in mileage

1 Attachment(s)
I have recorded fill-up no. 182 at 78530 miles, and fill-up no. 183 at 79004 miles. The difference between these two is 474 miles. Yet Fuelly is insisting that I have travelled 220 miles! I have checked and edited both entries, and I can't see any mistake on my part... and I've never had a problem in 181 previous fill-ups on this car. So what has gone wrong today?

Try adding 254 miles to #183 and see what happens. Maybe causing a change in the calculation will fix the glitch.

V96GLF 07-10-2023 06:55 AM

Well yes, that gives me a correct mpg for now, but it’s going to be off again at the next refill unless I keep adding 254 every time!

Does it change back to 220 when the odometer entry is corrected?

If still wrong, report your post, and maybe someone with power to fix it will respond.

What issue did you have, since you don't have any vehicles added to your garage?

JockoT 09-24-2023 04:39 AM

It is just another spammer.

I'm watching them, but giving them the benefit of the doubt right now. They haven't done anything... YET.

It has to be your browser, because I can see 2 cars in his garage, a Mazda and a Lotus.

trollbait 09-25-2023 11:24 AM

The original poster has 2 cars, but cassado10 has zero.

Same issue here. Traveled 459 miles and Fuelly is reporting 68 miles traveled. I don't know why. I went into the incorrect fuel up and the fuel up before it and both have the right mileage listed with no visible data irregularities (no hidden spaces, etc.)

Somehow fuelly is subtracting 191442 from 191901 and getting 68 instead of 459.

Is there any where to get help with this?

JockoT 10-12-2023 05:54 AM

I take it it is the Golf. You use trip mileages so surely Fuelly only uses the value you input?

uncre8tv 10-12-2023 06:58 AM

Yes, the Golf. I am putting in ODO mileage using SMS. What is indicating that I'm using trip mileage? I have always used ODO but would be interested if something is mis-set somewhere. When I go to edit that fillup it shows ODO.

JockoT 10-12-2023 11:40 AM

Okay. I just checked my own and although I use Odometer it shows as Trip. Have you tried deleting the last two fuel-ups and then re-entering them?

uncre8tv 10-12-2023 04:41 PM

No help :/

I deleted the last 4 fuel ups (the one before the problem, the problem, and the latest two after that) and manually re-added them via the web. It is showing the same bad math. Very weird.

thanks for taking a look!
