I don't understand why you would say they were "suckered". Anyone with half a brain, or even less, knows that if gas prices go down then their gamble returns less.

Gas is still over $3.40 here.

Either way, they're getting exactly what they were sold -- they don't have to pay over $2.99/gallon.

Just saw a newspaper article where one station in Topeka had gas for 2.99 for half the day yesterday.

It was a sweet concept though. I paid for gasoline price protection on The Beast for Jan thru July of this year. I was locked @ $3.07/gal. I really made out on June & July. I only paid about $40 for the price protection, and I got back almost $200.

Its just funny that people spend money to save money....More often than not it will take years and years and years before their plan "even out".

LOL, like buying a hybrid when they already had a decent car that was paid off?

Jay.....where did you buy gasoline price protection? Never heard of it. Just curious.

Jay2TheRescue 10-02-2008 02:09 PM

gaslimit.com. They don't sell price protection anymore though because they're still trying to pay off people like me. I still haven't gotten my final payment for July from them. I would not do it again, at least not from them.

Typically 10 years. So it's dumb unless you wanted a new(er) car to begin with. But you can't fault the car companies for trying to market towards that. It's their business to sell cars and they'll do it from any angle they can.

i guess people wont use their dodge 2.99 gas card when gas is 2.99 or cheaper (its like whatever you pay for the price, dodge will pay the difference so the final bill is 2.99 /gal)

KU40, your right about the car company''s job is to sell cars from every angle they can, they are a business. just like a restaurant, they are not there to serve you healthy food, its all about making money, as long as someone buys it
