I live in the Charlotte, NC area and it has been like that ever since Ike hit the gulf coast. They claim it is because the refineries weren't running full steam. We have been dealing with high prices, 1 in 5 stations having gas and long lines for 3 weeks. But guess what, the NASCAR race is at Charlotte Motor Speedway this coming weekend and there will be festivities there all week so they started trucking in gas from the mid west last week. I wonder why? They sure as hell didn't care that we were suffering, but they are afraid of losing a lot of revenue from the race if there is no gas. It's a bunch of BS if you ask me. I hope no one shows up for the race!!!

Yeah it seems that somehow I lucked out and the cheapest gas is around me in Kansas ($2.93 at a station I went by). I have no idea why, though, since most of the refineries are in the south.
At least the crappy economy is dragging fuel prices down with it. |
Consistent $4.20 around the midtown Atlanta area. If you can find it.

Ouch!!!!! I just got a half a tank, because gas was only $3.17!!!

Just saw $2.99/gal this morning in NE Ohio. Hoping it keeps dropping...

gas around greensboro is around 3.60-3.70 and in rural areas (where I live) are like 3.90.
I wish I could get some sub-$3/gal gas. |
