does 93 - 97 corollas have lockup torque converters?
 

im looking to buy an automatic 93+ corolla with the 1.8 liter 4 speed auto, but on fueleconomy.gov it doesnt state that it has a locking torque converter, it says "FFS''


also im looking at the 92-95 civic automatics too, im pretty sure they have a locking torque converter

Diagrams on the EBSCO Auto Repair Resource Center and Auto Zone's info (which appears to be the same) label it merely "Torque Converter" for A31L, A240L, and A241H transmissions, while the on the A245E transmission diagram it's labeled "Torque Converter Clutch". It might be worthwhile to confirm it by checking parts sellers to see which torque converter they'd sell for the car.

FuelEconomy.gov is not always complete in its list of features... My '90 Celica ST is listed as "FFS" and nothing else, but I have since confirmed that it has lockup (in overdrive only). Note that this is the same drivetrain as the Corolla, so it is virtually guaranteed that the Corolla also has lockup in overdrive (IOW, the 3-speed may not have it, if it doesn't have OD, but the 4-speed should).
