should i buy this corolla?

i saw it on craigslist, not sure what trim, but it has the 1.8L 4 speed auto, not the 3 speed auto.

94 model, 211k on the clock, clean title, 1500 firm. a tad bit of scratches on the bumpers.

The milage is too high, and for 1500 dollars? No way.

show up with cash in hand and complain about everything and firm becomes negotiable.

The 1.8L engine is a 7AFE, which is an excellent engine, it provides both more horsepower and better MPG than the 4AFE (1.6L). Not that that 4AFE is bad. I have a 4AFE in my Celica. I'm not sure if the Corolla follows exactly, but the Celica switched in '94. You can tell by the engine size: 1.6L is 4AFE, 1.8L is 7AFE. If it is 2.0L or more, then it has a "sports" engine with extra power but less MPG. If it has a 1.5L then it is either very old, or a different engine series (not the xA-FE type).
