i just realized something
 

i was putting in some gas logs last night and kinda dismayed....barely under the EPA combined....grumble...slightly under 30mpg, damn i can do better!

then it dawned on me....these entries are nearly 100% city driving:D

I feel the same way about getting under 40 MPG with 70% city driving, though still above EPA. Reduced use of EOC (to maintain engine temp on short trips to/from work - 182-F after 3 miles into my 7 mile drive every morning and evening) is wreaking havoc on my tanks lately as winter is officially here in Michigan.

you're doing quite a bit better than i am, care to share any tips for the hyundai? yours does have variable valve timing though....might make a difference. real fan of that technology here:D
