88 Buick LeSabre

Hi, I've been interested in conserving energy and other typical environmentalist interests for years before I got my license. I'm in college and drive home all the time - a journey of approx. 110 miles - nearly every week, and sometimes more often.

I drive a '88 Buick LeSabre that I do nearly all the work on to keep running, and while I have the ability and sometimes the inclination to drive otherwise, mostly focus on driving like an old man (which I'm not).

I came to this website to find out what I can do besides all the obvious things (I do them naturally, without teaching, therefore I consider them obvious) I'm either already doing or refuse to do because my comfort zone won't allow it.

I think that websites like this, especially as popular as this one appears, are a vital piece of the education that will eventually (hopefully) overcome the wasteful driving techniques I see every single time I'm on the road. :)

Those LeSabres are nice old cars, wouldn't mind having one myself. I absolutely love my old Buick, a 1981 Regal Limited. Does your car have the instant MPG readout on it, or is it too old for that? I'm not sure what year they started that on the LeSabre. I know my mother's old 88 LeBaron had an instant MPG readout.
