Cars with Instant MPG display

Anyone have a list of cars that have built-in instant MPG gauges? I thought something like this would exists, but I can't find it. I am trying to find a 2000 or newer car that has one built in. Yes, I know about the ScanGuage.

Since driving a 09 Corolla rental car and easily getting 55-60mpg, I think it's time to get something with the ability for such high mileage myself.

Can you narrow the field at all? Are there any models that you like? Do you know what class of car you're looking for?

The instant MPG was gobs of fun to watch as I drove, but I found that the most accurate use was to never re-set the master MPG gauge of my Cadillac. Ultimately it gave extremely accurate average mileage.
Calculating MPG on the gas receipt is also a good way to keep track.

I would think that the scangauge (I know you already mentioned it) would give you more options. you could get a good deal on a used auto and just add it in.

that way you could get a vehicle you liked and not have to worry about the gauge. stupid to buy a car for one feature that can be added for under $200

in the end, it's up to you. have you tried a google search. sometimes people (including me) forget about the obvious.

I know the new toyota Venza has one, and most of the hybrids (domestic or import) has it.

My mother's old 1988 Chrysler LeBaron had a built in MPG readout.

A few off the top of my head: 1987 or newer Cadillac Deville, 1999 or newer GMC Sierra/Chevrolet Silverado 1500/Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban (optional, not standard), almost any 2006 or newer VW.

the new Chevy Uplanders do.

Honda Insight has bar graph for instantaneous. Trip A and B with mileage updated every minute, and lifetime mileage with odometer reading. My average since purchase is 60.3 MPG and thats an auto tranny. Manuals will get significantly better mileage. First Insight was made in 1999. Hard to find since only 13,600 were sold in the US in 7 years.

Manual transmission models had lean burn, and some drivers have averaged over 80 MPG. My average started in early December so it is lower due to cold weather. Might climb to over 70 in the summer.

I drive for mileage without regard to time, only sacrificing mileage for traffic and light timing.

I recently drove an Impala and also a Malibu and both had it.

Actually, I think most newer cars today have both instant and average mpg readouts. It is actually real old technology as only the top end cars had it 15 years ago but now it has found it's way into many other car models of all car makers.
