Recent trip to Va Tech and DC area

700+ miles, 577.1 of them yesterday. The prototype should be complete and running by the 6th. I think they will continue to refine the design in the next year at Virginia Tech. Got a business plan fro the George Mason University group today.

Pics of my trip odometer reading for yesterdays almost 11 hours on the road. Longest I have ever driven on a single tank of gas. There was about 1.2 gallons left.

You're at Mason? That's not far from me. Want to meet for lunch Sunday?

Sorry Jay, I am back home now (Williamsburg). I will be coming up that way fairly often, so we can arrange something in the future.

The meeting at Mason was a group of 4 graduate students that have spent a good portion of the last year working on a business plan for my design.

We will have pics made Wednesday 6th May, Beef. They are having their final semester presentation at 3 PM the 6th. I want to try to make a video of the prototype in operation.

They had not finished the master rod on this visit, so they could not actually run the setup. They are focusing on building a full sized operational unit that would work on a Dodge Sprinter.

They have limitations, no ability to do investment casting, or welding, so they have to machine individual components out of large pieces of steel, and it's very time consuming.

The meeting Friday was where all the senior groups show their projects. Most of them have background data and prior work to give them a head start. This prototype is basically from scratch, and was easily the most ambitious project of all the classes. Of course I may be a bit prejudiced in my judgement.

Are you interested in attending the meeting Beef?

if I had more time to prepare, I would definitely make time for it. I just got back from vacation and the guy that I usually work with is going to equador for two weeks so I am being loaned out for other projects.

I am assuming you mean on the 6th.

though I can't be there, I will be waiting to see how all this turns out. it is no secret that I really like your design.
