92 Civic VX in SF-Bay Area Cali.. $3400 obo

If you're reading this, I'm sure you're pretty well versed with the Civic VX specs.

I have a 92 Civic VX never raced nor modified. It's a Fed version living in California. It has clean title with 201,xxx miles. Aftermarket items include 2-way alarm system and a CD with MP3 format friendly deck.

Asking price is $3,400 obo

That is some nice ****.. Eh, normally I wouldn't say this but I think that car IS actually worth what the OP is asking for!

Holy crap that's clean! But how is a Fed version registered in CA? Sunnyvale's where I was looking to move back to when I wanted to return to CA :D

The rule goes, you can't buy a new car from a dealer's lot unless it conforms to California's emission's standards, however you CAN buy a USED car that doesn't conform to california's standards. I know, because I have an LS400 which was from Texas and discovered later on that the California has Air Injection while mine does not; not to mention the sticker on the hood of the car says nothing about california.

Why doesn't the motor have the VTEC-E stamp on the valve cover? Is it really a D15Z1?

Otherwise, it looks just like mine! ('95 with 217K).

My vx also does't have the VTEC-E on the valve cover.

might have to do with the year. Just like, why do the california VXs have 5 wire o2 sensors?

'92-'93 valve covers didn't have VTEC-E, only the '94-'95.

You can import any 49 state car into california as long as it's used with over 7500 miles. This is how I was able to register my fed VX from colorado in california with no issues (just has to pass ca smog).

I don't know why, but I thought it was a '94. Maybe I saw the condition of it and confused it with R.I.D.E.'s old one.

Sorry... I totally forgot about updating this thread.

The VX was sold near my asking price in a couple of days after posting @ craigslist dot com.

Man, do I miss that car.
