Hi everybody!

Hello. My name is Evan, and I don't like buying gasoline.

I don't own a car at the moment, but I'm fixin' to buy a Civic VX in the next week or two. It's got 85,000 miles and seems to be in great shape. I feel very lucky to have found this car -- all those souped-up civics drive me crazy!

I'm taking the car on a long trip in a couple months, climbing mountains, driving some gravel roads, and traveling about 3000 miles from Portland, OR to Austin, TX. Any advice for this first time car owner?

Thanks everyone for a great site! I've learned so much browsing the forums.

I'm now the very proud owner of a 93 Civic VX. It's got 137,000 miles now (the other one fell through). One question: The car came with HX wheels and normal radial tires mounted on the car, and a full set of VX wheels with snow tires in the trunk. Which set should I use? I would guess the stock wheels with regular tires would be best, but what do you think?

Some guy just won a mileage contest on snow tires, so you can try 'em and see.

The regular tires should have it all over the snow tires on dry roads, but you can test that yourself.

I wouldn't make too much effort on the tires. The important part is inflation. When they're worn out and you're going to have to invest in tires anywaay, you can get some LRR tires put on the VX wheels.
