Trip Computer MPG Record

It came to my attention when filling The Red Beast this morning, that I, like a few others, record in the notes of each fill up what MPG the cars trip computer has recorded.

I do this more out of interest to see how out it is.

Would it be possible to have an option field to put this figure in, to enable fuelly to have another stat, showing average 'real' MPG vs average 'trip computer' MPG?

Advantages of this is people can see just how out their trip computers are easily over a long period of item.

If its just a silly idea though let me know, lol.

No, it's not a silly idea. I think quite a few people would like it. When we get feature requests like these we ask ourselves a few questions to see if it's a good fit for the site. Right now our mantra is "keep it simple". So we don't want to add a field to the fuel-up form that only a small group of people will use. We have to look at the big picture.

For now you could export your data and total up the trip computer data in Excel. That would give you a sense of the difference in overall average.
