my first metro

hey everyone. Just bought an 01 chevy metro lsi 4door auto yesterday. I would consider myself a novice in hypermiler status. I filled all tires to 40 psi and filled the tank. I was wondering if anybody can give me their thoughts on my purchase and what kind of mileage i can expect. thanks.

If an automatic, expect in the 30s. If a manual, should be in the 40s.

I like mine, it has held up well (over 200k miles). I've seen some in junkyards with over 300k on them.

My wife first rode in mine yesterday (I've had it 2 1/2 years), and described it as "adorable and scary".

this is my first 3 speed auto experience. with it high reving at highway speeds I'm a little weary about taking it on the highway. Am i just being paranoid? At what speeds will their be a decrease in mileage due to the 3 speed?

Above about 55 mph mileage will drop some. Yes, the high revving can be annoying. I've even considered converting mine to a manual transmission...right now it's the only car I have running, so I can't. Also it's a lot of work, it would pay for itself in 2-3 years, but I have more important things to do with my time right now.
