Hi GasSavers.org! I'm a Honda Civic VX Owner

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself along with my 1992 Honda Civic VX (Canadian model). I acquired this car last year and parked it. Was too broke to get it all fixed up to use it. But I've finally got it fixed (somewhat) and am about to embark on my gas saving journey (corny, i know haha).

Anyways, I basically got the car because I wanted a Civic to "supe up". You know... the whole b18c, turbo, horsepower and all thingy. BUT, upon further research about the VX models, I realized that I had a real gem in my hands. I seriously didn't know these cars were built solely for fuel economy. So now, I've done a total 180 and I'm going the gas saving route.

Crazy. What fate!

I'm still planning on JDM'ing this car out. Lowering, rims, lip kit, and all. But the engine will stay stock

I just finished patching up a fuel leak. Being that I'm in Canada, the car's body is in pretty rough shape. Evidence points that it's had a repaint too. But it's still rusting around the fenders and rockers. Ontario loves salting the roads up here!

I plan on keeping this car for a long time. It's very rare to find a VX in the classifieds these days. So I think she might be a keeper.

Oh yea, can't forget about my other daily driver. This car also get's tremendous gas mileage for what it is. Not to mention, it's super fun to drive as well. Non-turbo 1991 MR2. 28mpg mixed driving. Not too bad.

Glad to be apart of GasSavers.Org :)

I think you're wise to go the FE route. No matter how quick you make a Civic, the big boys will stomp you. When you aim for 50 or 60 mpg with a non-hybrid, you'll beat almost everyone.

...and you'll save money that you could spend on something more useful.
