1990 Honda CRX HF - 78,000 Miles
Vehicle has normal wear for the mileage (bolsters, paint, etc). Looks like it had a minor fender hit on the RF. Fender seems to have been inexpertly pulled, both blinkers are cracked on that side. Damage is barely visible from 3ft. A/C needs a new o-ring, which I am doing this weekend. It is parked in my garage currently, getting the trailing arm bushings replaced.
I want to stress that this vehicle is 100% stock and has been that way since new. Odometer is accurate, Carfax is clean. Vehicle has been in the DFW area it's whole life. $6,000 OBO. I do mean the OBO, as I don't expect the vehicle to go for the full $6,000. I work quite a few hours, so please give me time to respond. Vehicle can be shown weekends. Due to it currently being down I would want a 2 week lead time for a pickup if you want to drive it home. I will update when the bushings get done, but with 60 hours+ at work, college, and taking work home they are not a #1 priority until I have a buyer. Anyhow, on to the pics: https://www.fuelly.com/attachments/fo...c6917feff2.jpg https://www.fuelly.com/attachments/fo...5e54a8d9ea.jpg https://www.fuelly.com/attachments/fo...79a90cb08a.jpg https://www.fuelly.com/attachments/fo...b33c011da9.jpg https://www.fuelly.com/attachments/fo...a09242c552.jpg https://www.fuelly.com/attachments/fo...246aaac3f6.jpg Thanks for looking! Please don't post if you think the price is inappropriate; I know I'm asking a lot for it. However, you won't find another like it for less! |

Re: 1990 Honda CRX HF - 78,000 Miles
sidebar question: You mentioned that you were about to replace an AC O-ring (meaning that the system will need to be recharged). My question to you, sir (and anyone else who has worked on their AC lately) is this: are you going to somehow recharge the system with the R-12? Do you do AC work yourself, or can you tell me how much you've been quoted for R-12?
I'd rather not settle for anything other than R-12, since the other crap isn't as cold. I know this is really the wrong site to even ask any of this, since everyone here probably has the same type of AC that I'm currently using ("2-70"). BTW, I've also heard that the other refrigerants are under more pressure (can that be true?) and that they'll just wind up killing the OEM Honda compressor. Thoughts? Comments?? Suggestions??? |
Re: 1990 Honda CRX HF - 78,000 Miles
You need to be certified to purchase R-12 or service systems with R-12 in it. I recommend the R-12 replacement (the one made out or propane). Its colder than R-12 ever was, and is a lot cheaper. My dad had put the similar R-22 replacement in his old a/c system in his home, and it worked better than when it was new.
R-12 systems can also be easily converted to R-134a now as well. I think I saw a conversion kit in my local auto parts store for under $100. |

Don't underestimate the value of a low mileage ZERO rust UNMOLESTED, stock CRX. Too many of them are rust buckets that have all kinds of shoddy performance "enhancements" and sweet body mods. Most stock HF's have 250K miles on them and are full of rust, or if they have a good body they have some other engine swapped in. Imagine how much you have to spend to get another CRX into this condition. Engine rebuilds/paint jobs/CV's/Interior etc.......Plus if the AC problem is just an O-ring it at least has a workable AC system. Most CRX's I have seen have the AC removed and lots of pieces missing. |
